There’s been a fantastic response to the two detailed surveys carried out in May and June – with over 100 responses from households and 13 from businesses – and these have provided a rich source of views for shaping a draft Plan. Summaries of the findings of both surveys are being published alongside this note on Next Steps.
We now need to explore the points raised in a bit more detail to help define what policies we should be looking to include in our Plan. To do this we think we need five small groups (about 6 people in each) to cover the following areas:
- Housing
- Environment
- Employment
- Access
- Community facilities
Each group will have a couple of members from the core Steering Group (to ensure consistency of approach across the groups), and other people from the Parish. Some people have already expressed an interest in being involved further, and they will be approached!
But more volunteers are needed. The commitment is for a small number of meetings over a few weeks from September. If you’re interested in any of the five topics, please let one of the core Steering Group know.
There will also be larger workshop-style consultations for anyone from the Parish who wants to attend. The first two – on Housing and on the Environment – will be run by independent facilitators and are likely to take place in October (probably in the Loyd Lindsay Rooms). Watch out for the dates. If we need workshops on the other topics, we’ll try to run these ourselves (to keep the cost down!)
Please think about getting involved in the small groups – and watch out for details of the workshops on your Neighbourhood Plan
